Wow, dat potje had ik wel bij willen zijn! Klinkt alsof alle uithoeken van de MtG catacomben bezocht zijn. Echt leuk dat jullie met deze kaarten daadwerkelijk spelen!
Ik ben mijn Athreos, God of Passage aan het testen. Inmiddels zit ik in een goede positie, goed genoeg om een Lich te spelen zodat ik met een extort-beest (Crypt Ghast) kaarten kan pakken. Speelt mijn tegenstander de beurt erna een Chains of Mephistopheles! Wat een zeldzaam epische counterplay!! 
Is goed, ik zal mij kat trainen om de telefoon op te nemen. Ze spreekt vloeiend sarcasme.

@wackywong als je je telefoonnummer geeft bel ik je iedere ochtend om 06.00 uur wakker en fluister ik: 'Denk aan de Lich' in je hoor.
Over Lich gesproken, kijk eens wie weer tot leven is gekomen.

Goed idee. Anders begin je met hem hier bouwen, dan kunnen wij tips geven, en blijft je idee levend tot de kaarten daadwerkelijk op de kop tikt.
Ooit voor de gein overgenomen van een vriend voor 15 euro met het idee om eens keer iets wazigs mee te doen. Inmiddels is de prijs bijna vertienvoudigd maar heb ik er nog steeds niks mee gedaan. 
Kaart is zo cool maar o zo moeilijk om iets om heen te bouwen. Wel positief dat het een put-into-graveyard-trigger heeft ipv een leaves-trigger.
Waarschijnlijk ga ik een Athreos, God of Passage deck mee bouwen met allerlei extort en lose life-gain life kaarten zoals Polluted Bonds. (Note to self: doen!)

Hmm, da's jammer. Maar bedankt voor je toelichting!
Maar ik kan dus wel eerst Platinum Emperion casten, dan Lich (en dan blijf ik op 20 staan), en daarna de Empirion saccen zodat Lich blijft functioneren terwijl ik vrolijk op 20 blijf. Da's al reusachtige winst

Dat klopt inderdaad, je zult dus nog wel op de een of andere manier van Emperion af moeten komen voor je er profijt van hebt.
'Gelukkig' houdt Platinum Emperion de "Whenever you're dealt damage, sacrifice that many nontoken permanents." ability niet tegen (er wordt nog steeds damage gedaan, het resulteert alleen niet in levensverlies), dus kun je hem daaraan eventueel saccen.
Ik ben bang dat die inderdaad niet meer werkt.

614.7. If a replacement effect would replace an event, but that event never happens, the replacement effect simply doesn't do anything.
Er is 1 uitzondering op die regel:
614.11. Some effects replace card draws. These effects are applied even if no cards could be drawn because there are no cards in the affected player's library.

Maar ja, werkt de "If you would gain life, draw that many cards instead." dan nog wel?
Zo ja, übertof! Maar dan werkt de "Whenever you're dealt damage, sacrifice that many nontoken permanents." waarschijnlijk ook nog. Nou ja, dat had ik er toch al altijd bij.

Als je Lich speelt terwijl je Platinum Emperion hebt liggen, blijf je dan gewoon op 20 life staan? Dat zou leuk zijn; kun je Lich zonder complicaties Boomerangen...
Er zijn natuurlijk best mogelijkheden om de 0 life op te lossen als Lich gebounced/exiled wordt, zoals Phyrexian Unlife. Maar eenvoudig is het niet inderdaad, zelfs de mythische Ali from Cairo steekt geen hand voor je uit als Lich verdwijnt.

If you have multiple Lich cards on the battlefield, you must sacrifice a permanent for each damage done to you for each Lich. This is because the sacrifice is a triggered ability. But you only draw one card for each life gained regardless of how many Liches you have. This is because the draw is a replacement effect and not a triggered one. You lose if any one of the Liches leaves the battlefield.

If an opponent steals control of Lich and no other effect prevents you from losing with a life total of zero, you will lose the game due to a zero life total as a State-Based Action before you can take any actions. The last sentence doesn’t apply in this case since the Lich didn’t leave the battlefield.

The last ability will cause you to lose the game even if you somehow manage to have a life total greater than 0 at the time the Lich leaves the battlefield or if some other effect would prevent you from losing for having 0 life. If, on the other hand, some effect such as that from Platinum Angel says that you can’t lose the game then even the last ability of the Lich cannot cause you to do so. The ability will just resolve and the game will continue as normal.
