Ik heb even een vraag over Animar, Soul of Elements + Bestow.
Allereerst even de Bestow reminder text:
"If you cast this card for its bestow cost, it's an Aura spell with enchant creature. It becomes a creature again if it's not attached to a creature."
Mijn vraag is nu, reduceert Animar de cost van kaarten met Bestow als je ze voor de Bestow cost speelt. In eerste instantie dacht ik van wel want het is immers (onder andere) een creature kaart maar toen bedacht ik me het volgende. Als je een spell speelt, dan announce je die eerst en leg je de spell op de stack (stap A in de stappen van een spell casten).
"601.2a The player announces that he or she is casting the spell. That card (or that copy of a card) moves from where it is to the stack. It becomes the topmost object on the stack. It has all the characteristics of the card (or the copy of a card) associated with it, and that player becomes its controller. The spell remains on the stack until it's countered, it resolves, or an effect moves it elsewhere."
Later wordt de cost bepaald en betaald, en op dat moment ligt de spell op de stack en heb je dus te maken met "... it's an Aura spell with enchant creature." En is het dus geen Creature spell meer (vier stappen verder in stap E).
"601.2e The player determines the total cost of the spell. Usually this is just the mana cost. Some spells have additional or alternative costs. Some effects may increase or reduce the cost to pay, or may provide other alternative costs. Costs may include paying mana, tapping permanents, sacrificing permanents, discarding cards, and so on. The total cost is the mana cost or alternative cost (as determined in rule 601.2b), plus all additional costs and cost increases, and minus all cost reductions. If the mana component of the total cost is reduced to nothing by cost reduction effects, it is considered to be Mana0.gif. It can't be reduced to less than Mana0.gif. Once the total cost is determined, any effects that directly affect the total cost are applied. Then the resulting total cost becomes "locked in." If effects would change the total cost after this time, they have no effect."
Klopt dit en zo nee, waarom niet?

Ik heb de nieuwe regels nog niet gedownload. Wat ik je wel kan vertellen is dat de reminder text totaal niet nuttig is.
Ik vermoed dat het niet goedkoper wordt, omdat:
(i) Creatures niet geattached kunnen zijn aan Creatures.
(ii) De alternatieve kost, dat Bestow is, daarom Creature niet als type meegeeft aan de spell die op de stack gaat (omdat permanents alle karateristieken overnemen van de permanent spell).
Maar nogmaals, het is een educated guess. Momenteel weet ik het niet, en ik heb niet echt de tijd om het uit te pluizen.
Er zijn ook nog geen nieuwe comprehensive rules, dus voorlopig moeten we het antwoord schuldig blijven.
Volgens de huidige regels zou je neigen naar ja, want een artifact creature is ook een creature en een artifact creature spell is dus ook een creature spell.
Maar wat Wackywong terecht aangeeft: Het zou zo kunnen zijn dat Bestow de card en sub types van een kaart aanpast. En dan zou het antwoord Nee zijn. (Hij past sowieso een sub type aan, maar de vraag is of hij daarmee het card type Creature verliest of niet.)
Maar zoals gezegd, zo lang er nog geen nieuwe comprehensive rules zijn, blijft het speculeren.
Als je een creature met besotw normaal cast triggert je animar.
Als je een creature met bestow.. uh, bestowt triggert je Animar NIET.
Je cast dan een Enchantment Aura-spell, en geen Enchantment Creature spell meer. In magic kan een beestje nooit tegelijk een beestje en een aura zijn. Dit is omdat een beest nooit geattached kan zijn aan een ander beest. Daarom, als een equipment bijvoorbeeld een beest wordt valt hij van zijn 'eigenaar' af.
Ik denk dat je gelijk hebt. Dat betekent dus dat hij het card type creature al kwijt raakt tijdens het casten (anders zou Animar, Soul of Elements nog wel triggeren). Maar de reminder text van Bestow impliceert dat ook wel.
702.102a Bestow represents two static abilities, one that functions while the card with bestow is on the stack and another that functions both while it's on stack and while it's on the battlefield. "Bestow [cost]" means "You may cast this card by paying [cost] rather than its mana cost." and "If you chose to pay this spell's bestow cost, it becomes an Aura enchantment and gains enchant creature. These effects last until one of two things happens: this spell has an illegal target as it resolves and or the permanent this spell becomes, becomes unattached." Paying a card's bestow cost follows the rules for paying alternative costs in rules 601.2b and 601.2e–g.
Dus inderdaad, als je hem voor bestow cast is het geen creature spell meer en krijg je dus geen korting van Animar.
