IMO zegt protection dat deze kaart niet de target kan zijn van spells van die kleur/soort, oftewel, alleen als een spell/effect "target (kaart) ...." of dmg doet dit niet kan door de gegeven protection. Daarentegen een effect, alhoewel de kleur/soort is van de soort/kleur waarvoor protection is gegeven, werkt dit (spell)effect toch, de zo genoemde global effects. Daar de "inherent" sliver ability zegt: "all slivers....." is dit geen targeted spell/effect en werkt protection hier tegen niet.
Protection werkt maar tegen 4 dingen:
* Damage
* Attachen (enchant, equip, fortify)
* Blocken
* Targeten
De ability "All Sliver creatures get +1/+1." van Muscle Sliver doet geen van die vier dingen, dus die werkt inderdaad gewoon nog.

Wat als je groen kiest, is het dan nog steeds 3/3 als hij samen met de muscle Sliver in play is?

Abilities that Slivers grant, as well as power/toughness boosts, are cumulative. However, for some abilities, like flying, having more than one instance of the ability doesn’t provide any additional benefit.

If the creature type of a Sliver changes so it’s no longer a Sliver, it will no longer be affected by its own ability. Its ability will continue to affect other Sliver creatures.
