Het laatste. Er staat namelijk "then", dus je moet eerst aanvallen. Dan als er meer dan 3 counters op zitten moet je het sacrificen.

stel ik leg een van de ordeal aura's op een creature met al 3 +1/+1 counter er op.. word de ordeal meteen gesact? of pas als de creature aanvalt en dus een 4e counter krijgt?
Dat wordt dus 1 van zijn creatures, want 3 schade heb je niks aan als je voor poison gaat.
En waarom niet? De sacrifice trigger doet misschien wel geen poison counters, maar 3 schade op je opponent (of één van zijn creatures) is ook goed.
Dat werkt niet lekker i.c.m. zijn sacrifice trigger.

When you sacrifice Ordeal of Purphoros, it deals 3 damage to any target.

The +1/+1 counter is put on the creature before blockers are declared and before combat damage is dealt.

The check of whether the enchanted creature has three or more +1/+1 counters on it happens as part of the resolution of the attack triggered ability. If the third +1/+1 counter is put on the enchanted creature any other way, you won’t sacrifice the Ordeal until the next time the creature attacks.
