Dit is wellicht een wat vreemd bericht, omdat het een regel'vraag' is die ik ook meteen zelf maar beantwoord. Maar het leek me nuttig hier een topic over aan te maken gezien het tot nogal wat verwarring kan leiden.

Stel ik heb 4 devotion aan een kleur. Bijvboorbeeld zwart. En ik speel vervolgens Erebos, God of the Dead.

En nu heeft mijn tegenstander een Blind Obedience of Imposing Sovereign in het spel. Komt Erebos getapt in het spel of niet?

Het antwoord hierop is: NEE.

En dat is gek, want Erebos is op de stack een creature. En Erebos is vanaf het moment dat hij in het spel komt een creature. En toch komt hij untapped in het spel.

De regel die toegepast wordt is de volgende:

614.12. Some replacement effects modify how a permanent enters the battlefield. (See rules 614.1c–d.) Such effects may come from the permanent itself if they affect only that permanent (as opposed to a general subset of permanents that includes it). They may also come from other sources. To determine which replacement effects apply and how they apply, check the characteristics of the permanent as it would exist on the battlefield, taking into account replacement effects that have already modified how it enters the battlefield (see rule 616.1), continuous effects generated by the resolution of spells or abilities that changed the permanent's characteristics on the stack (see rule 400.7a), and continuous effects from the permanent's own static abilities, but ignoring continuous effects from any other source that would affect it.

Het spel gaat een stukje in de toekomst kijken, maar doet dat op een beetje een rare manier, het replacement effect van een Blind Obedience wil weten of Erebos een creature is. En daarbij komt het de regel tegen: As long as devotion to black is less than 5. Erebos isn't a creature tegen. Omdat dit een eigenschap is van Erebos.

Daarna gaat het spel kijken wat dan die devotion is. En dan ziet de game dat devotion op dit moment is: 4. En Erebos is dan geen creature. De manacost van Erebos wordt in het voorspellen van de toekomst niet meegenomen.

Zoals gezegd, niet echt een vraag, maar wel een nuttig stukje informatie om te weten (en ik wilde niet bij alle goden en of mogelijke replacement effects kaarten deze informatie gaan neerplempen..)
