Soms heb je van die kaarten die van zichzelf gewoon flink sterk zijn maar nooit hun weg een goed deck in vinden

Chandra Nalaar zat gewoon 2x in het sideboard van Bas Melis, de Nederlands Kampioen van 2010. Nalaar is een heel erg goed extra antwoord op de toen populaire Baneslayer Angel.

Bottom line is dat Chandra Nalaar een boutplaneswalker is en hoe dan ook nooit gespeeld wordt/zal worden en deze wat mij betreft uitermate geschikt is, dus waar hebben we het over

Het is toch niet zo vreemd dat de ultimate slechter is dan bij Chandra Nalaar. Chandra Nalaar kost een 
meer dan deze, dus ze ligt een beurt later en haar ulimate is ook -8 i.p.v. -6. Ze kunnen allebei maar met 1 loyalty per beurt om hoog, alleen begint Chandra Nalaar op 6 en deze op 3. Beide ulimates kunnen dus in beurt 7 afgaan, maar aan Chandra Nalaar had je dan niet alleen meer mana besteed, je hebt ook 2x een slechter effect van de +1 ability gekregen ten opzichte van die van Chandra, the Firebrand.

In de praktijk heeft het echter bijna altijd wel een win tot gevolg als je hem af laat gaan, net als praktisch alle andere ultimates van alle andere planeswalkers op jace 4.0 en tibalt na

Wat ik raar vind aan Chandra Vuurbrand is dat vergeleken met Chandra Nalaar haar ultimate minder sterk is geworden. Ja, je kunt nu meer players targeten, maar ook maar 6 creatures. In de praktijk doe je er in totaal minder schade mee.
Storm zegt "When you cast this spell ..." (zie de reminder text op Grapeshot).
De kopieën (zowel de storm-kopieën als de kopie gemaakt door Chandra) leg je simpelweg op de stack en cast je dus niet (zie ook mijn reply bij Grapeshot).
Van de kopieën triggert Storm dus niet (want die cast je niet), alleen van het origineel. Maar aangezien er vóór Grapeshot geen spells gecast waren, krijg je dus geen storm-kopieën, als de storm-trigger van het origineel resolvet.
Uiteindelijk heb je de originele Grapeshot en de kopie die je van Chandra krijgt.
Als ik Chandra's -2 gebruik en ik speel daarna mijn enige spell, namelijk Grapeshot, hoeveel damage doe ik dan? Drie?

Chandra’s second ability creates a delayed triggered ability that will copy the next instant or sorcery spell you cast that turn, regardless of whether that spell has targets.

When the delayed trigger resolves, it creates a copy of a spell. You control the copy. That copy is created on the stack, so it’s not “cast.” Abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell won’t trigger. The copy will then resolve like a normal spell, after players get a chance to cast spells and activate abilities.

The copy will have the same targets as the spell it’s copying unless you choose new ones. You may change any number of the targets, including all of them or none of them. If, for one of the targets, you can’t choose a new legal target, then it remains unchanged (even if the current target is illegal).

If the spell Chandra copies is modal (that is, it says “Choose one -” or the like), the copy will have the same mode. You can’t choose a different one.

If the spell Chandra copies has an X whose value was determined as it was cast (like Consume Spirit does), the copy has the same value of X.

You can’t choose to pay any additional costs for the copy. However, effects based on any additional costs that were paid for the original spell are copied as though those same costs were paid for the copy too. For example, if you sacrifice a 3/3 creature to cast Fling after activating Chandra’s second ability, the copy of Fling will also deal 3 damage.

When you activate Chandra’s last ability, you choose up to six target creatures and/or players. No damage is divided, and Chandra can’t deal more than 6 damage to any one target. Chandra deals 6 damage to each target that is still legal when the ability resolves.
