Als Painter’s Servant weg is, is zijn effect ook meteen weg en zijn alle kaarten weer hun normale kleuren. Dan heeft die Diabolic Edict je Grindstone combo dus verpest.
Als je grindstone hebt liggen, en painter's servant en je activeert de grindstone vervolgens speelt iemand diabolic edict op de servant zijn de kaarten in het deck dan nog de kleur die je hebt gekozen op het moment dat de grindstone ability afgaat?

Static abilities (zoals die van Painter's Servant) werken alleen als de betreffende permanent nog op de battlefield aanwezig is.

Nee, want dan is er niets meer dat zegt dat er iets gebeurd met kleuren.
de rule van servant blijft toch ook nog gelden als hij dood gaat?

De equipment valt er af omdat sofai zelf dan ook blauw is.
Je kunt hem wel equippen. Alleen valt hij er daarna gelijk weer vanaf, op het moment dat state-based actions gecheckt worden.
Want dan heeft het creature namelijk protection from blue en dus mogen er geen blauwe permanents aan ge-attached zijn.

While Painter’s Servant is on the battlefield, an effect that changes an object’s colors will overwrite Painter’s Servant’s effect. For example, casting Cerulean Wisps on a creature will turn it blue, regardless of the color chosen for Painter’s Servant.

Each card becomes a new object as it changes zones, so this effect will apply to it from scratch in the new zone. Zone-change replacement abilities that care about the new color (like “[color] permanents enter the battlefield tapped”) won’t work because those effects are applied as the card is entering its new zone. Zone-change triggered abilities that care about the new color (like “when a [color] permanent enters the battlefield” or “when you cast a [color] spell”) will work because those effects apply after the card is already in its new zone.

If something affected by Painter’s Servant is normally colorless, it will simply be the new color. It won’t be both the new color and colorless.
