Het klinkt een beetje stom, maar er staat: you may do this any time. Bedoelen ze dan ook wanneer je je deck schud als je bijvoorbeeld net een fetchland gespeeld en mag je dan ook zonodig doorschudden als die kaart jou niet bevalt?
Het lijkt me sterk dat het kan maar ja, meestal moet je de regels nogal letterlijk opnemen.

Volgens mij moet je deze vooral vergelijken met Simic Sky Swallower. De sky swallower was indertijd één van de belangrijkste threats in control-decks.
Deze is wat minder dik en mist trample, maar kost 1 mana minder (een belangrijke want van 6 naar 7 is niet evident), is makkelijker in allerlei decks te spelen (want monocolored).
De extra ability helpt te topdecken, dankzij shuffle-effecten van onder meer fetchlanden...
Conclusie: volgens mij is deze kaart underrated. En dat zal vooral te danken zijn aan Her Majesty, the Insane Baneslayer Angel...

Essentially, Sphinx of Jwar Isle lets you play with the top card of your library revealed only to you. Knowing what that card is becomes part of the information you have access to, just like you can look at the cards in your hand. You may look at the top card of your library whenever you want, even if you don’t have priority. This action doesn’t use the stack.

If the top card of your library changes during the process of casting a spell or activating an ability, you can’t look at the new top card until the process of casting the spell or activating the ability ends (all targets are chosen, all costs are paid, and so on).
