"Whenever ... blocks" vs. "Whenever ... blocks a creature" inderdaad.

Hier de relevante regels:

CR 509. Declare Blockers Step

509.1a The defending player chooses which creatures that he or she controls, if any, will block. (...)

509.4. Fourth, any abilities that triggered on blockers being declared go on the stack. (...)

509.4a An ability that reads "Whenever [this creature] blocks, . . ." generally triggers only once each combat for that creature, even if it blocks multiple creatures. It triggers if the creature is declared as a blocker. (...)

509.4b An ability that reads "Whenever [this creature] blocks a creature, . . ." triggers once for each attacking creature the creature with the ability blocks. (...)

Helaas, dat werkt niet.

Jareth zegt namelijk niet "For each creature Jareth, Leonine Titan blocks, it gets +7/+7 until end of turn.", maar "Whenever Jareth, Leonine Titan blocks, it gets +7/+7 until end of turn."

Officiele rulings

High Ground’s effect is cumulative. If you have a creature that can already block an additional creature, now it can block three creatures.

7/15/2007
High Ground allows you to make some complicated blocks. For example, if you’re being attacked by three creatures (call them A, B, and C) and you control three creatures (X, Y, and Z), you can have X block A and B, Y block B and C, and Z block just C, among many other possible options. The defending player chooses how each blocking creature’s combat damage will be divided among the creatures it’s blocking.
