Definitie van een (activated) mana ability:
605.1a An activated ability is a mana ability if it meets all of the following criteria: it doesn't require a target (see rule 115.6), it could add mana to a player's mana pool when it resolves, and it's not a loyalty ability. (See rule 606, “Loyalty Abilities.”
Dus ja, Yurlok of Scorch Thrash's activated ability is een mana ability.

Ik zou voor de duidelijkheid zeggen niet alleen iets dat mana geeft maar ook iets dat mana OPLEVERT zoals Metalworker
Een mana ability is er een die mana gééft, niet iets dat mana kost. 
En het is geen mana ability. Zit daar wellicht de verwarring?

Nee, dat is een activated ability
kan ik de ability van Stoneforge Mystic activeren?
Correct, een beest dat niet op het veld ligt is een creature card en geen creature.
Deze kaart houdt toch alleen creatures op het veld tegen? Suspend kan toch nog gewoon gebruikt worden? Greater Gargadon's ability als hij suspended is toch ook gewoon? Zo ja dan is deze kaart echt handig voor mij
Daarom zeg ik ook "in sommige gevallen".

Dragon Stompy runde bloodmoon ook mainboard (weet niet of dat nog bestaat). Maarja, Dragon Stompy runde ook Trinisphere mainboard en Damping Matrix soms zelfs.

Blood Moon is zeker wel main deckable hoor. Zie painter.
B2B is SB, net als Blood Moon in sommige gevallen. Trini is miss MB in Staxx, maar SneakyShow speelt hem ook gewoon SB hoor.

A mana ability is an ability that produces mana, not an ability that costs mana.

Damping Matrix’s ability affects only artifacts and creatures on the battlefield. Activated abilities that work in other zones (such as bloodrush or unearth) can still be activated. Triggered abilities (starting with “when,” “whenever,” or “at”) are unaffected.
